EmpowHERment

Nonprofit helps Florida women reach their full potential

EmpowHERment is a nonprofit organization based in Clearwater, Florida that gives women in need the support and community resources they need to flourish. Founded in 2018 by Ambee Stephens, EmpowHERment offers financial, nutritional, wellness, family, and educational programs that bring women together. To date, the group has provided support to more than 800 women and families within its local community.

Searching for a unique way to raise money

As anyone who’s been involved leading nonprofits and other causes knows too well, money doesn’t always flow as generously as their organizations wish it did. When the cash flow river dries up, it becomes exceptionally more difficult, if not impossible, to achieve impact goals.

EmpowHERment needed a unique way to raise money to finance its operations and fulfill its mission. The EmpowHERment team began looking for a creative solution that would enable them to secure funding in a fun and enjoyable way, without any heavy lifting.

Harnessing the power of an engaged community

After researching their options, EmpowHERment found HundredX Causes™, a unique purpose-built funding solution that supports hundreds of causes nationally.

HundredX Causes harnesses the passion of nonprofit supporters by encouraging them to simply share feedback on the popular brands and products they use every day in exchange for HundredX providing funds to their cause.

With HundredX Causes, nonprofits can receive up to $2 for each piece of qualifying feedback that members of their community share.

Fundraising with no out-of-pocket cost

The decision to turn to HundredX Causes proved to be a wise one for EmpowHERment. The nonprofit has already completed three campaigns since 2021 — and raised more than $52,000 along the way.

How is EmpowHERment using these funds?

Opening a community center

Thanks to the funds, the nonprofit was able to open the EmpowHERment Community Center, a shared space in Clearwater where women come together to help each other become the best versions of themselves.

Launching EntreprenuHER Academy

The nonprofit recently launched the EntreprenuHER Academy, an eight-week program that helps women become successful entrepreneurs and provides a $500 grant to each business.

 Creating a feminine product pantry

EmpowHERment also used some of the funds to create and sustain a feminine product pantry, which supplies women in the Clearwater community who are struggling financially with the items they need to stay healthy.

Supporting the community

To date, EmpowHERment has delivered 200 holiday meals to families in need in the community. The organization has also provided back-to-school resources to 100 families. Today, more than 180 individuals are involved with EmpowHERment, offering support, resources, and counseling to those who need it.
